WHAT DATA WE COLLECT AND WHY WE COLLECT IT
USER DATA
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. Your user profile will remain on our website indefinitely unless you choose to delete it.
COMMENT DATA
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment. Your comment will remain on our website indefinitely unless you choose to delete it.
MEDIA DATA
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website. Your media will remain on our website indefinitely unless you choose to delete it.
CONTACT FORM DATA
Our contact form is used for our legitimate business interests, such as booking enquiries and general correspondence. Contact submitted through this form is delivered to our email address via a 3rd party SMTP service (Sendgrid or Gmail Oauth2.0) to ensure email delivery.
This data is held indefinitely unless you ask us to remove it.
MAILING LIST DATA
We use mailchimp or sendgrid for our legitimate business purposes- the provision of newsletters and marketing material to our customers.
User’s names and email addresses are added automatically to our mailing list(s) from sign-ups through our website. We may also choose to add users manually to our mailing list (with prior consent). The personal information stored in our mailing list(s) is stored indefinitely unless you choose to opt out.
CUSTOMER DATA
We use Woocommerce with third party payment portals (paypal) to enable sales on our website.
If you choose to place an order with us, you may be asked to enter your name, a recipient’s name (for gifts) email address, a recipient’s email address (for gifts) phone number, shipping address & billing address.
We will retain information from customer orders for up to 5 years unless you ask us to remove it.
PUSH NOTIFICATION DATA
We use push notification from OneSignal to notify our readers whenever we publish or update a blog post. Our push notification subscribers are collected automatically from our website when a user chooses to opt into this service. We do not collect any information from our push notifications list which would allow us to personally identify individual users. Users will continue to receive push notifications indefinitely unless they choose to opt out.
USAGE & ANALYTIC DATA
To continually improve user experience on our website, we make use of different usage monitoring services.
We use Google Analytics, a service which records website traffic and monitors. We do not collect any information from analytics which would allow us to personally identify individual users.
You can opt out of google analytic tracking, but instructions will vary from browser to browser. Please refer to google’s website for further information on how to do this.
COOKIES
1ST PARTY COOKIES
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. Our e-Commerce system uses 3 cookies to keep a track of your shopping cart data. These are:

We also use a cookie consent plugin to notify the user of the presence of cookies & analytics on the website and link to the privacy policy. The plugin itself will create a cookie to avoid pestering the user by showing the message repeatedly. This is:

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
