Here is my festive holiday haul! These are things that I treated myself to over the holiday period, and it’s not a coincidence that their all pilates/fitness related!
This week’s post comes just shy of a week after my elbow surgery, where I’m really missing my normal schedule of fitness & training. Since I can’t be participating in my routine I thought I’d share it with you! Do you have a weekly schedule that you stick to or do you make it up as you go?
Simple smoothies- for a health kick on the go
I used to be big on smoothies a few years back but somehow lost my way with them, until recently. Being on holiday a couple of months ago they became part of my daily routine, partly to combat the intense heat and partly to accompany my gym routine each morning- it just made sense as I walked past the local juice bar every morning.
I’ve not long returned from a great holiday trip to Singapore, where the lifestyle was easy and the culture was generally active. But this isn’t usually the case for the typical holiday and I wanted to share some tips on how to stay healthy and active even whilst you are on vacation! Having been home for a few weeks it’s easy to slip back to sedentary ways but these tips can work in the office, on the go, or at home.
Workout bag essentials- What do you pack?!
This weekend I hosted my THIRD Pilates Retreat Day. This is a whole day dedicated to you. To relaxation. To pilates and exercise. To socialising. To tea breaks. I first came up with the idea when I was getting super stressed out and just wished I could head off for a day or so completely to myself to free the stress and do the things I love- pilates, exercise, swim, read books, and drink tea. I figured I wasn’t alone in this thinking and thus the creation of Freshly Centered Retreat Days!
What a weekend I had last week! I finally completed my first Triathlon! Continue reading “My first urban triathlon”
Can you believe we are almost half way through the year? Time seems to have just rushed by these past couple of months for me and recently I have been checking up on what I intended to do this year. New Year plans and goal setting seemed great in January, but where are you now with it? If you’re anything like me you’re falling behind, feeling guilty, wondering how it’s May already and you still haven’t made a dent in these plans!
PLUS- I’ve just realised my blog/website is ONE YEAR OLD this month! And I now REALLY need to get that back on track too. I have so many ideas for it and no idea where time has gone?! Here is how to get back on track:
Not long left to go! New Year is always the time we make new plans, whether it is to get fit, get started on a new routine, healthy diet, or lifestyle change. This offers as a fresh start after all the over-indulging over the festive holidays and interruptions to our regular routines. A break from routine is welcoming though, a respite from the normal chaos, but when it comes to an end we need a plan to get back on track.
Keeping your plans is all down to organisation and commitment. January 17th is the estimated “drop out of the New Year resolutions” date, so here I have tried to give you the tips (and the FREE PLANNER!) to make sure you are not part of that category.
